The Tories are still on life support – so why is Badenoch in celebratory mood?
The Conservative party had a night to forget in Thursday's local elections, losing about 500 councillors and ceding control of three local authorities to Reform UK. Despite this, party leader Kemi Badenoch is hailing the results as proof that the Conservatives are coming back, citing gains in London. The Tories won back the council of Westminster and took the most seats in Wandsworth council.
