Virginia Democrat who helped lead state's redistricting push also played part in killing it

A Virginia Democrat's support for a redistricting referendum backfired when a judge he appointed helped strike it down on constitutional grounds. The referendum was poised to give Democrats an advantage in the midterm elections. Sen. Mark Warner endorsed the referendum and contributed $100,000 to the campaign.
