Virginia Democrat who helped lead state's redistricting push also played part in killing it

A Virginia Democrat's support for a redistricting referendum backfired after a judge he appointed helped strike it down on constitutional grounds. The referendum was poised to give Democrats an advantage in the midterm elections. Sen. Mark Warner had endorsed and donated to the campaign behind the referendum.
