California becomes first state to provide a month of free diapers to all newborns

California has launched a program to provide free diapers to all newborns, with hundreds of diapers given to parents before leaving the hospital. The program aims to alleviate expenses for California families and will initially be offered at 65 to 75 hospitals. The state has partnered with Baby2Baby to manufacture the diapers under the label 'Golden State Start'.
