ChatGPT’s ‘Trusted Contact’ will alert loved ones of safety concerns

OpenAI is launching a safety feature for ChatGPT that allows adult users to assign an emergency contact for mental health and safety concerns. The feature, called 'Trusted Contact', will notify designated friends, family members, or caregivers if OpenAI detects discussions of self-harm or suicide. This feature aims to provide support alongside existing localized helplines.
