Spain awards UN legal expert Francesca Albanese one of its highest civilian honours

The Spanish government awarded UN legal expert Francesca Albanese a high civilian honour for her work documenting and denouncing international law violations in Gaza. Albanese is an Italian human rights lawyer and UN special rapporteur on Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. She has been critical of Israel's military operations in Gaza, describing them as genocide.
