Scientists reverse diabetes in mice with lab-grown insulin cells

Scientists in Sweden have developed a method to create insulin-producing cells from human stem cells, which can restore blood sugar control in diabetic mice. These lab-grown cells respond strongly to glucose and were successful in transplant experiments. The breakthrough could potentially lead to a cure for type 1 diabetes.
