Musk has never built a wafer fab, but he wants to burn $119B on one anyway

Elon Musk's SpaceX plans to invest $119 billion in a semiconductor fab in southeast Texas to produce chips for orbital AI datacenters. The project, called Terafab, aims to boost global semiconductor production by 50x. Musk has no experience in running a fab, but has partnered with Intel for the project.
