Minnesota fraudster cuts no-jail plea deal with key condition tied to alleged mastermind
A Minnesota Medicaid fraud defendant, Said Awil Ibrahim, pleaded guilty and is expected to avoid jail time under a plea deal that requires him to cooperate with authorities pursuing his fugitive co-defendant, Abdirashid Ismail Said. The case involves a nearly $11 million Medicaid fraud prosecution. Ibrahim will also return the $2.2 million he stole from the state through a payment plan.
