New Mexico has a plan to overhaul Facebook and Instagram

New Mexico is seeking a $3.7 billion abatement plan against Meta, which would require funding for mental health providers, law enforcement, and educators, as well as changes to Meta's services such as age verification and detection of child sexual abuse material. The state recently won a $375 million jury verdict against Meta. New Mexico attorney general Raul Torrez's office is arguing for these changes in the second phase of a landmark trial.
