Google DeepMind workers are unionizing over AI military contracts

Google DeepMind staff have voted to unionize to prevent their AI technology from being used by Israel and the US military, citing concerns over complicity in international law violations. The move is supported by 98 percent of Communication Workers Union members at DeepMind. Employees are seeking recognition of the CWU and Unite the Union as joint representatives.
