Eiffel Tower-sized asteroid Apophis to pass closer to Earth than many satellites in 2029, NASA says

A large asteroid named Apophis is expected to pass close to Earth in 2029, but there is no risk of impact. The asteroid will come within 20,000 miles of Earth's surface and is classified as potentially hazardous. NASA is confident that there is no risk of Apophis impacting Earth for at least 100 years.
