DHS scorches Pritzker's 'sanctuary' state after child rapist on ICE detainer released

The Department of Homeland Security criticized Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson for releasing a Guatemalan national convicted of child sexual abuse after his ICE detainer was ignored under the state's TRUST Act. ICE later arrested the individual, Erik Giovanni-Quiroa, on the streets of Chicago after he evaded custody.
