Wrong-way driver who plowed into L.A. County Sheriff’s recruits, killing 1, pleads guilty, avoids prison

A 25-year-old driver from Diamond Bar pleaded guilty to 10 felony charges after crashing into 25 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s recruits during a morning jog in November 2022, killing one recruit and severely injuring five others near South Whittier. The incident occurred around 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of Mills Avenue and Telegraph.
