National majority vote for president a step closer as Virginia signs bill into law

Virginia governor Abigail Spanberger signed the National Popular Vote bill into law, joining 17 states and DC in an interstate compact aimed at securing 270 electoral votes to implement a national popular vote system. The compact now holds 222 electors, bringing it closer to the threshold needed to determine the presidential winner.
